The Purple Truck Story - Owner Garold Cates
As a kid growing up in Clark County, I helped my neighbor paint houses on weekends. Summer painting jobs at his company through high school and college came next, and then I joined the business full-time until his retirement.
That’s when Painting Specialist was born. My mom printed business cards with the name “Painting Specialist.” I still have a treasured original on my office wall!
My own personal color consultation came next. Purple, the color of royalty, was chosen as the perfect color for my trucks.
Our People

A strict safety program keeps employees --- and your property --- safe. There has never been a serious jobsite injury since our inception in 1992.
Our employees drive our signature "purple truck" company vehicles, wear official uniforms and name badges, and are subject to random drug tests and mandatory background checks.
